Our Beginning

Necessity is matcha pop-up that began in March 2025 with one simple goal: to bring the authentic taste and culture of Japanese matcha to Oklahoma City. Our mission is to promote wellness, sustainability, and connection through every cup we serve.

Crafted in UJI

We have partnered with Yamamasa Koyamaen from Uji, Kyoto—home to some of Japan’s most renowned matcha. Their centuries-refined craft, care, and precision inspire everything we do. By honoring traditional Japanese tea culture while sharing it in a modern, approachable way, we hope to offer our community a true taste of Japan.
